Corel Draw, or as it's correctly spelled, CorelDRAW, is the
ideal tool for designers no matter what the graphics project. It
is used routinely in the graphic design, sign-making, and fashion
design industries. CorelDRAW allows designers to be more
innovative while creating unique artworks and illustrations.
The first version of CorelDRAW was
released in 1989, and the latest version, X4 (or 14) was released in
2008.
CorelDRAW's many features and tools
can be grouped into the following general categories: color and color
management, professional output, performance and productivity, user
interface enhancements, desktop publishing, precision, typography,
creation tools, compatibility and integration, and bit map effects.
CorelDRAW is an industry-standard
vector graphics editing software application. Vector graphics
are made up of geometrical objects such as points, lines, shapes and
curves, which are all based on mathematical equations.
Therefore, these objects can be made larger without any loss in
quality.
Raster graphics (or bitmaps) on the
other hand, quickly begin to show a loss in quality as their size
increases. This is because they are made up of a grid of tiny
squares (pixels) that become more and more visible as the image is
enlarged.
